Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review, Swatch and Dupes
Hey guys! I’ve had this foundation for a long time but I had never gotten to reviewing but finally this weekend I decided it’s time so here is my review on the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation. Before getting this one, I had tried a lot of drugstore foundations for everyday use but none of them were as satisfying as the high end brands that I have tried. But once I got this, it has become my go to foundation. So let’s get into the review before I reveal anymore.

What the product claims:
This ultra-lightweight foundation contains micro-powders that absorb oil for a matte and poreless-looking finish. Maybelline’s unique formula goes beyond matching just skin tone and also matches the texture of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural fit. Dermatologist and allergy tested, this mattifying foundation does not clog pores and is oil-free.
My take on Maybelline Fit Me Foundation:
Packaging:
The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation comes in a thick and sturdy glass bottle with a screw on plastic cap. The bottle doesn’t leak and I would say it is travel friendly but I have never been fond of glass bottled makeup because I have to be extra careful when packing not to keep it in the corner of the bag, not to keep any sharp object that might break it if my bag falls or hits something. I have foundations from a lot of makeup brands and most of them come in glass bottles which always make me uncomfortable to take them during trips. And when the product is nearly over, there is so much stuck to the sides that I can’t take out which means with every bottle, I’m wasting product when I throw it away. I wish there is a way to open the bottle without breaking it to take even the last drop of product out.

Texture and Formula:
Now that I’ve done my ramblings about the packaging of this foundation, let’s move onto the formula and texture of the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. It isn’t gritty and doesn’t have any fragrance or chemical smell to it which is a good sign. The formula is thin and is quite similar to the L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation which is super runny but when comparing it side by side, I find that the Maybelline Fit Me Matte Foundation has better coverage as it is a little thicker in formula. I tried several ways to apply this and I found that the best way to apply this is to use a damp makeup sponge like the Beauty Blender or the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge and just pounce it on the skin to blend the product out. Don’t get me wrong, I like to use my trustee makeup brushes but no matter how I apply it, there are light streaks which got really annoying and I just gave up.
Staying power:
Once applied, just like the name of the product, the foundation gives a matte finish to the skin which is awesome for my shiny oily skin. It feels light on the skin and doesn’t clog my pores which comes in as a relief as I have very sensitive skin which is extremely prone to breaking out. The foundation stays on for atleast 6 to 7 hours but it isn’t a full coverage foundation so if you are looking for a light to medium coverage foundation, then one is a good product.
Suitability and Dupe:
This is where one of my main problems lies. There are 25 shades available in EU and USA but in India Maybelline Cosmetics decided to release only 5 of those shades which I find to be bizarre. I don’t know if they are testing the market to see if the product catches on or fizzle out but I really hope they start releasing the rest of the shades soon. The 5 shades already available is good for Indian skin tones but as many of you know most of those (including me) who tend to fall between the shades have a hard time matching as they are either too light or too dark. When it comes to dupe, many has touted that the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is a drugstore dupe for the much coveted MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation and the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation.

Overall:
Other than the lack of shade selection, I find this to be the best of drugstore foundation hands down. To make it much clearer, think of it as one of the best makeup foundations that can easily compete with the high end brands while costing less than a quarter of the price.
